New Malbec’s at CHAT Teddington for this month!
Each month we are adding more and more wines to our shelves, joining your favourites. Our aim is that there will always be something new for you to discover in store. Even better, that you have the opportunity to taste these wines at our monthly wine events – whether it is a CHAT & Wine night or a Winemusing Session.
Here is just a selection of Unoaked Argentinian Malbec ….
This month we have welcomed some new Malbecs with Argentinian accents arrive on our shelves. These are not matured in oak, or only for a very short time, so each of them is a fruity medium bodied red.
Urqo Los Durmientes Malbec
This wine from Bodega Urqo comes from Mendoza’s Uco Valley. The Valley is one of Argentina’s prime Malbec growing regions. This wine has been made to capture and retain Malbec’s fruity nature by being mainly fermented in stainless steel. While there are floral aromas to the red fruit character, there is also a savoury mineral note that adds extra interest. £10 – £15 price range.
Estampado Mendoza Malbec
This is a fresh fruity and approachable style of Argentinian Malbec. It has some lush ripe blackberry fruit and some softer tannins. It is another unoaked style that is fresh and fruity. £10 – £15 price range.
Nieto Senetiner Benjamin Malbec
The organic Nieto Senetiner Don Nicanor has been a very popular Malbec on our shelves. Where the Don Nicanor has been made with old vines and time on oak, the Benjamin has been created for easy drinking. The fruit here shines bright with ripe plums and cherries. £10 – £15 price range.
Molinillo Malbec
The Molinillo Malbec has been made by one of the Uco Valley’s wine families, the Caselles family. These grapes are naturally low yielding and due to the high altitude, they retain their feisty freshness. Particularly that scent of violets and the purple hue that leaps from the glass. £10 – £15 price range.
