About this wine
The Pipoli is made by a small co-operative in Basilicata in Acerenza in the heart of the Aglianico del Vulture zone. Fruit for this wine comes from vineyards in the towns of Maschito, Irsina and Acerenza on the slopes of Mount Vulture, an extinct volcano, in Basilicata. Soils in this area are volcanic and rich.
Vineyards are planted at an altitude of 500 – 600 metres above sea level and all south west facing. The long slow growing season, due to the high altitude of the vineyards, ensures that Vulture is one of the last areas in Italy to harvest, so late ripening native grapes such as Greco and Fiano are ideally suited this area.
The wine gets some lees ageing in stainless steel tanks before it is bottled.

Tasting note
Pale lemon in colour with greenish reflections. On the nose, there are perfumes of tropical fruit and subtle vegetal notes. Rich yet fresh on the palate, with a distinct lime zest character that comes from the Greco fruit.
Food pairing suggestions.
A fresh wine like this dry white, will work really well with seafood, salads and chicken. Salads with fresh cheeses are also a great option. However, this is also a really good wine to enjoy on a warm afternoon.
