About the wine
Since 1850, the Bertani has been making wines that reflect the diversity of the Veneto region of Italy from these traditional Valpolicellas to Soaves.
Grapes are harvested by hand from wholly-owned vineyards on the hills of Valpantena cru of Valpolicella. The drying process, particular for Amarone wines, concentrates the fruit flavour, richness and increases the body. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats at high controlled temperature to extract fruit and richness. The wine is aged for 2-3 years in small oak barrels to preserve fruit intensity.
Tasting note
Deep dark ruby with a violet rim. Notes of black and sour cherries, berries, spices and dried fruit. The palate is creamy with soft tannins and integrated oak. A lighter, fruitier and younger version of Bertani’s icon Amarone Classico.
Food pairing suggestions
This is a “traditional Amarone for today” perfect for enjoying young or matching with modern cuisine. Excellent with duck.
