About this wine
In 1997 Phil Sexton arrived in the Yarra Valley in search of altitude, aged soils, slopes of exposure, regular rainfall and cool to cold night time temperatures and a gentle breeze off the protecting mountain ranges. Why, because he wanted to grow amazing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir fruit to make wines of purity and finesse.
Tasting note
An elegant, refined and delicate Chardonnay that is also surprisingly voluptuous. The nose shows classic Yarra characters of lemon sorbet, white peach and nectarine, underpinned with notes of marzipan and hazelnut. Crisp acidity ensures a refreshing, clean finish.
Food pairing suggestion
Fried soft shell crab, grilled fresh goats curd and olive tapenade on grilled sourdough and fresh rocket salad, roast chicken, preserved lemon and roast garlic. Or aged Pecorino cheese drizzled with extra virgin olive oil.
