About this wine
Chapel Down, from Tenterden, is one of England’s best known wine makers. The grapes for this wine have come from Kent, Essex, East Sussex and Dorset. This is a classic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Blanc. All grapes that are also found in many fine Champagnes.
After ferment, the wines stay on fine lees in the stainless steel tank for 6 months before bottling for the second ferment. Then the wines rest on lees for a further 18 months.
Tasting note
Chapel Down Brut NV is a classic example of quality English Sparkling wine with aromas of red apple, citrus fruits and freshly baked bread together with hints of strawberry and quince on the palate. It has very fine bubbles.
Food pairing suggestion
Great as an aperitif or a perfect pairing to the British classic – fish and chips.
