Featured Wine of The Month – Palladino Biferno Rosso
A warm and spicy choice!
Our featured wine of the month for November is the Palladino Biferno Rosso
The Palladino Biferno has been grown and made in the region of Molise. Molise is in Central Italy and is one of Italy’s smallest wine growing regions. The grapes for this wine is grown on older vines aged between 15 – 25 years old which deliver ripely concentrated fruit.
This is a lush red blend of the native red grapes of mostly Montepulciano with some Aglianico. Montepulciano is better known from the nearby region of Abruzzo, whereas Aglianico is famed from the more southern Italian regions. Particularly from Campania.
After spending 18 months in large oaks, this wine then spends a further 18 months maturing before it is ready for sale. This is one smooth Italian. Bold, yet smooth.

This is a great introduction to some of Italy’s lesser known red grape varieties. It is also incredible value!
Did you know! We have some other excellent Italian red wine producers…
Bertani, Vigneti del Vulture, Baccanera, Castellani and Accordini

Serving suggestions:
This wine is good to enjoy without food too, but it goes very well with a BBQ, or a juicy burger. Or you could serve it with some lamb chops topped with a dollop of pesto.
