The Chan de Rosas Cuvee Especial Albarino is a highlight of the great wines from Galicia in North East Spain. The vineyards these grapes have been harvested from are located in the middle of the Salnés Valley, Rias Baixas. The man behind Chan de Rosas is Marcos Lojo who is a very safe pair of hands when it comes to getting the best from Albarino grapes.
This is immediately apparent from the purity, definition and varietal expression that sits at the heart of Chan de Rosas’ stylistic approach. Particularly when it comes to the Cuvee Especial.
A small proportion of the wine (15%) has spent time in French oak barrels to aid texture, weight and complexity. This judicious approach to oak influence aims to support the natural expression of the grape and allow its personality to shine.

About the Chan de Rosas Cuvee Especial Albarino:
The Cuvee Especial’s aromas bring together citrus, green apple, pear, nut and vanilla cream notes. These notes follow on to the palate with a creamy texture and wonderful honeysuckle note on the finish. It is intense and generous but still fresh and very well balanced.
Drink this wine lightly chilled around 8-10oC, if you drink it too cold you will miss the delicious creaminess of this wine.
Serving suggestions:
Enjoy this wine with a wide variety of grilled fish, seafood or chicken or haloumi. You could match with a cheesy roulade filled with pancetta and chives, a pear and camembert or a onion tartlet.
